WWE

  • August 1: Triple H announces that WWE Survivor Series – War Games 2024 will take place on Saturday, November 30th at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.
    Mark Henry’s son, Jacob Henry, announces that he has signed with WWE.
  • August 2: Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga defeat #DIY to win the WWE Tag Team titles on SmackDown.
  • August 3: Roman Reigns returns and attacks Solo Sikoa at WWE SummerSlam.
    Multiple title changes at WWE SummerSlam:

    • Gunther defeats Damian Priest to become World Heavyweight champion.
    • Nia Jax defeats Bayley to win the WWE Women’s championship.
    • LA Knight becomes United States champion by defeating Logan Paul.
    • Bron Breakker wins the Intercontinental championship by dethroning Sami Zayn.
  • August 5: The Wyatt Sicks make their winning debut by defeating Chad Gable & The Creed Brothers on Monday Night Raw.
  • August 13: We learn that Randy Orton signed a 5-year extension deal with WWE.
  • August 16: Bobby Lashley and MVP are officially free agents.
  • August 23: Tanga Loa replaces Jacob Fatu as WWE Tag Team champion on Friday Night SmackDown.
  • August 26: Uncle Howdy makes his solo in-ring debut by facing Chad Gable on Monday Night Raw.
  • August 29: Nikki Cross renews his WWE contract.
  • August 31: Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill defeat Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn at Bash In Berlin to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles back.

NXT

  • August 13: Andre Chase & Ridge Holland from Chase U win the NXT Tag Team titles by defeating Axiom & Nathan Frazer.
    Charlie Dempsey wins the NXT Heritage Cup back by defeating Tony D’Angelo.

AEW

  • August 7: HOOK makes his return on AEW Dynamite.
  • August 15: AEW announces that AEW All In 2025 will take place on Saturday, July 12th at the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
  • August 25: Multiple news with AEW All In:
    • Bryan Danielson becomes AEW World champion by defeating Swerve Strickland.
    • Mariah May defeats Toni Storm to win the AEW Women’s World championship.
    • Will Ospreay regains the AEW International championship by defeating MJF.
    • HOOK takes the FTW championship back from Chris Jericho.
    • Claudio Castagnoli, PAC & Wheeler Yuta become the new AEW World Trios champions by winning the London Ladder match.
    • Ricochet makes his AEW debut in the Casino Gauntlet match.
    • Daniel Garcia makes his return during the match between MJF and Will Ospreay.
    • AEW announces that Swerve Strickland renewed his contract with the promotion.
    • AEW announces that Grand Slam 2025 will take place on Saturday, February 15th at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
    • AEW announces that Forbidden Door 2025 will take place in London on Sunday, August 24th next year.
  • August 28: Jon Moxley makes his return to open AEW Dynamite.
    Ricochet wins his Dynamite debut by defeating Kyle Fletcher.
    Bryan Danielson announces that he will not retire as long as he is AEW World champion.

  • August 1: Sammy Guevara returns at Ring of Honor Wrestling.
  • August 17: Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara win the ROH World Tag Team championships by defeating The Undisputed Kingdom’s Matt Taven & Mike Bennett on AEW Collision.

NJPW

  • August 18: Zack Sabre Jr. wins the NJPW G1 Climax 34 by defeating Yota Tsuji in the final.

TNA

  • August 30: Zachary Wentz wins the X-Division championship by winning the Ultimate X match at TNA Emergence.

NOAH

  • August 13: Pro Wrestling NOAH announces that Yoshinari Ogawa retires from pro wrestling.

Other

  • August 9: Former WCW wrestler Kevin Sullivan passes away at the age of 74.
  • August 16: Roman Reigns’ uncle Afa Anoa’i passes away at the age of 81.
  • August 18: Alberto El Patrón wins the AAA Mega championship by defeating Nic Nemeth at AAA TripleMania XXXII – Mexico City.
  • August 26: Former WWF champion Sid Vicious passes away at the age of 63.

Bryan Danielson. “The American Dragon” saved his career by defeating Swerve Strickland at AEW All In to become the new AEW World champion. All the narrative of that storyline has been close to perfection, as Bryan Danielson closed the chapter by winning his first title in AEW in front of his wife and his kids. Three days after his big win, Danielson announced that he would not retire yet, and that he would still wrestle full time as long as he is World champion. He will put his title on the line next Saturday at AEW All Out 2024 against the current TNT champion Jack Perry.

Swerve Strickland (c) vs. Bryan Danielson Title vs. Career, AEW World championship, AEW All In 2024 (August 25)

“The Realest” and “The American Dragon” shared the ring for more than 25 minutes at the Wembley Stadium in London on August 25th at All In, and what a main event that was. It was all about creating a moment for the history books, as more than 50.000 people were singing as one “The Final Countdown” for Bryan Danielson’s entrance.

After kicking out of three consecutive House Calls from his opponent, Bryan Danielson won via submission with the famous LeBell Lock to secure the victory and make the Wembley Stadium explode in joy and celebration. A night to remember for the fans of “The American Dragon” and an emotional contest between two of the very best in AEW.
