AEW

The 2024 edition of AEW Blood & Guts took place this Wednesday, July 24th at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Check out the news following the event, as a new championship has been introduced and a wrestler has made her AEW debut.

MJF replaces the International title by the AEW American championship

Last week on Dynamite, MJF defeated Will Ospreay in a +59 minutes Classic to win the AEW International championship and dethrone “The Aerial Assassin”. Seven days later, the former AEW World champion kicked-off the episode of AEW Dynamite – Blood & Guts to present a new championship, the AEW American championship. Indeed, MJF threw the International title as a sign of disrespect to the wrestlers who held the belt before him, and he introduced the American championship that is destined to embody everything he represents in the squared circle.

After his promo, MJF was attacked by the former International champion Will Ospreay who said that he obtained a rematch for the title at AEW All In 2024 at Wembley Stadium in London, England. It’s the third match that has been announced for the next AEW pay-per-view.

Kamille makes her AEW debut

Later in the evening, the former NWA World Women’s champion Kamille made her AEW debut and she joined forces with the current TBS champion Mercedes Moné. Kamille attacked Dr. Britt Baker DMD in the back after Britt Baker’s victory over another former AEW Women’s World champion in Hikaru Shida. About 24 hours after Dynamite, AEW has announced that “The CEO” will have to defend the TBS championship against Britt Baker on Sunday, August 25th at AEW All In.

Team AEW defeat Team Elite in Blood & Guts

Plus, Team AEW defeated Team Elite in the main event of the night. After a brutal 5 on 5 contest as we would expect from a Blood & Guts match, Darby Allin made Matthew Jackson quit to save his friend and partner Jack Perry, as the TNT champion was about to be burnt by Darby. Furthermore, Darby Allin is still asking for a match against “The Scapegoat” for the AEW TNT championship. With this victory at Blood & Guts, he may be closer than ever to get the title opportunity that he is looking for.
