Vince McMahon steps down as chairman of the TKO Board of Directors

Last week, Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a shocking complaint for sexual abuse, sexual assault and sex trafficking against Vince McMahon. The former chairman of WWE denied the accusations at first, and he announced this week-end that he would step down as chairman of the TKO Board of Directors.

Here is the statement he made for Deadline: “I stand by my prior statement that Ms. Grant’s lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and is a vindictive distortion of the truth. I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations, and look forward to clearing my name. However, out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO business and its board members and shareholders, partners and constituents, and all of the employees and Superstars who helped make WWE into the global leader, it is today, I have decided to resign from my executive chairmanship and the TKO board of directors, effective immediately”.

Slim Jim ceased his partnership with WWE with the recent allegations, and renewed it as soon as Vince McMahon announced he would quit the TKO Board of Directors.

Logan Paul has successfully defended the United States championship at the Royal Rumble this past week-end, defeating Kevin Owens via disqualification. One day prior to the event, Logan Paul announced on his Instagram account that he had renewed his WWE contract; we don’t know the details of the new deal, as the current US champion had already extended his contract with WWE last year, after WrestleMania 39.
