Women's World title match set for AEW Dynamite Grand Slam

Mariah May will put her World title on the line next week on AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2024.

All Elite Wrestling will present its 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite Grand Slam next week, on Wednesday, September 25th. As the show will air live from the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City, New York, a new championship contest has been announced for the event by Tony Khan.

Second title defense for Mariah May

Mariah May is the AEW Women’s World champion since her victory over Toni Storm at AEW All In 2024. She has already successfully defended her title once, by defeating Nyla Rose on the September 4th episode of Dynamite. Next Wednesday, she will have to defend it for the second time, as she will battle Yuka Sakazaki on AEW Dynamite Grand Slam.

AEW’s president Tony Khan announced it on his X account following the September 18th episode of Dynamite, as Yuka Sakazaki & Queen Aminata defeated Mariah May & Serena Deeb by DQ during the event.

It’s the fifth match made official for AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, as Bryan Danielson, HOOK and The Young Bucks will also put their respective titles on the line next week in the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

  • AEW World championship: Bryan Danielson (c) vs. Nigel McGuinness – If Bryan Danielson is cleared to wrestle
  • AEW Women’s World championship: Mariah May (c) vs. Yuka Sakazaki
  • FTW championship: HOOK (c) vs. Roderick Strong
  • AEW World Tag Team championships: The Young Bucks (c) vs. Kyle Fletcher & Will Ospreay
  • Darby Allin vs. Jon Moxley – Darby Allin’s AEW World title shot is on the line
