As Money In The Bank has taken place this Saturday, July 6th in Toronto, WWE now sets its eyes on its next big chapter which is SummerSlam. The event is set to air live from the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024.

Gunther to challenge Damian Priest at SummerSlam

Last night on Monday Night Raw, WWE has made the World Heavyweight championship match between Damian Priest and Gunther official for WWE SummerSlam 2024. Damian Priest retained the World title at Money In The Bank against Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre despite the fact that “The Scotthish Psychopath” cashed-in his Money In The Bank contract during the one-on-one match between Priest and Rollins to make it a Triple Threat. As he is the champion and the face of Monday Night Raw since the second night of WrestleMania XL, he will have to defend his championship against the 2024 King of the Ring, the “Ring General” and former Intercontinental champion Gunther. The Austrian Superstar defeated Randy Orton in the King of the Ring tournament final at WWE King & Queen of the Ring back on May, 25th to win the crown. A few moments after his win, he declared that he would challenge the World Heavyweight champion at the biggest event of the summer.
