John Cena announces his retirement from WWE

John Cena has announced his retirement from WWE at Money In The Bank 2024.


This Saturday, July 6th, 2024, WWE presented the fifteenth annual edition of Money In The Bank. The event aired live from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. As the match card was composed of five matches including two championship bouts, the show was marked by the surprise presence of John Cena who was introduced by the former WWE Women’s champion and the host of Money In The Bank Trish Stratus.

John Cena will officially retire from WWE in 2025

The 16-time World champion came to Money In The Bank to announce that he will retire from WWE in 2025. He said that he chose to announce it in Toronto because the Canadian wrestling fans always made their voices heard when WWE came around.

John Cena declared that the 2025 editions of Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania would be his last as a competitor, as we already know that WrestleMania 41 will take place next year in Las Vegas on April 19 and April 20. He also said that he wanted to be part of the WWE move to Netflix from January 2025.

During the post-Money In The Bank press conference, John Cena said that he would have around 30-40 matches in 2025. CM Punk declared that he would like to have a final match with John Cena before the retirement of “The Champ”, and “The Best In The World” better make it clear because The last time is now.
