Wrestler & match of the month

Wrestler of the month

Mercedes Moné. “The CEO” keeps on making a big impact since her arrival in AEW. After winning the TBS championship last month at Double Or Nothing, she captured the NJPW STRONG Women’s championship by defeating Stephanie Vaquer at Forbidden Door. She is now a double champion and she is still undefeated since her AEW debut, with four victories out of four matches. It seems like she is the woman to beat right now in AEW, even if she does not hold [yet?] the Women’s World title.

Match of the month

Kaito Kiyomiya (c) vs. Gabe KiddGHC Heavyweight championship, NOAH Grand Ship in Yokohama 2024 (June 16)

Kaito Kiyomiya and Gabe Kidd had a great match at NOAH Grand Ship in Yokohama, and they proposed something different than what we are used to see in NOAH. Obviously, with Gabe Kidd, you have to expect brutality, and that is exactly what we had; plus, it felt like the GHC Heavyweight champion Kaito Kiyomiya did a great job to adapt to that style of wrestling. An entertaining match and an important victory to consolidate the title reign of Kaito Kiyomiya.
