WWEThe UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada is about to welcome WWE NXT for NXT Battleground 2024, as the event is set to take place this Sunday, June 9th. Six matches including five championship bouts have been announced. Ethan Page and Jordynne Grace will respectively have their first title match in the black & gold brand, and the first NXT Women’s North American champion will be crowned.
Ethan Page and Jordynne Grace look to conquer NXT
The NXT champion will have to put his title on the line against “All Ego” Ethan Page at Battleground. Ethan Page made his NXT debut by attacking the champion on the May 28th episode of the black & gold brand. This week, he signed a contract to become a full-time NXT wrestler. So, can he dethrone Trick Williams next Sunday at the first time of asking?
On the Women’s division, Roxanne Perez will defend her championship against the TNA Knockouts World champion, Jordynne Grace, who had made her first WWE appearance at the Women’s Royal Rumble earlier in the year. Jordynne Grace surprised everyone and especially the NXT Women’s champion by challenging Roxanne Perez for a title bout on the May 28th episode of WWE NXT. Will she make an immediate impact by taking the NXT Women’s championship this Sunday at Battleground?
The first NXT Women’s North American champion
At Battleground 2024 in Las Vegas, there will be a 6-Woman Ladder match to crown the inaugural NXT Women’s North American champion. Six Superstars will try to make their way to the top to take the title: Fallon Henley, Jaida Parker, Kelani Jordan, Lash Legend, Michin and Sol Ruca. The announcement of the creation of the new championship had been made by the NXT general manager Ava at NXT Stand & Deliver 2024 back on Saturday, April 6th.
Can Wes Lee get back on top?
Wes Lee had to take some time far from the squared circle because of a serious back injury, and he’s been out of action between November 2023 and May 2024. Now that he is back, he is looking to get his hands back on the NXT North American championship. The current champion, Oba Femi, will have to put the title on the line at Battleground in a Triple Threat match against Wes Lee and Gallus’ leader Joe Coffey, who will try to win his first championship in WWE NXT.

Plus, the NXT Tag Team champions Axiom & Nathan Frazer will defend their titles against The O.C., Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, and Shayna Baszler will face Lola Vice in an NXT Underground match.
